Celebrating 27 years of Special Fair Day!!!
The Maui Fair will celebrate the 27th Annual Special Fair Day on Friday, October 7, 2016. Special Fair Day-the only event of its kind in Hawaii- is the time reserved for mobility impaired people and then others with disabilities who cannot attend the Fair during general operating hours, to have the opportunity to enjoy ‘the Fair with Local Flair’ experience. During the Special Fair Day selected rides and games, entertainment, and a plate lunch are available to the Special Guests free of charge. Space is limited.
Hale Mahaolu has been a part of Special Fair Day for all 27 years. “It’s been our pleasure to sponsor this wonderful event. “’It takes a village’ as the saying goes and our staff does a fantastic job putting this together. They fundraise, volunteer and look forward to participating every year”, says Roy Katsuda, Executive Director at Hale Mahaolu. “Our biggest challenge is the fact that the amount of participants is limited. It is not an easy task to manage, but we want to ensure that those individuals who would not otherwise be able to attend the Fair are able to participant.”
All Special Guests, Attendants, and Volunteers must be registered in advance to receive a Badge Pass to enter the gates on Special Fair Day. Registration for this year’s Special Fair Day is completed.
Mahalo to all of you who donate your time, talents, and monetary support to make to help make Special Fair Day a successful event. We look forward to a wonderful 27th Annual Special Fair Day 2016.
