Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii (September 26, 2016) – Spaces are filing up quickly for the 12th Annual Maui Fire Department Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser. This year’s event will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2016 starting at 3:00 pm in the Entertainment Tent at the 94th Maui Fair. Trance and Mackie from the Da Jam 98.3 will return to host the 12th Annual Chili Cook-Off.
The fundraiser benefits Shriners Hospitals for Children Patient Transportation Fund which enables children afflicted with injuries related to fires to receive the necessary medical treatment and rehabilitation therapy on their road to recovery.
There will be two categories. The Open Category is open to the first ten non-professional registered entries. There will be a registration fee. Bring in your favorite Chili Dish and our Fire Fighters will judge. The winner of this Open Category will win a Trip for Two on Alaska Airlines (system-wide). The Chef Exhibition will highlight our island chefs Best Chef Category. A special People’s Choice Award will be awarded to one of the participating chefs, this chef will receive $500. The public is invited to sample these delicious creations for a small donation and vote for their favorite dish.
Registration form and rules and regulations can be can be found and submitted at here. Pickup your entry number and gate pass at the Fair Office once you’ve been approved as one of the ten applicants.
